ps. somehow this makes it even sadder for me.... Like how long have the Ghosts been haunting my queue? lol

I legit told myself I would buy the PS5 and get it for that on a disc, but I never did!

I am also having a similar issue mentioned by others of awkwardly trying to get the most out of my old PS and XBOX controllers. For the Xbox I doubled up and got 2 corded oldschool (like not the offbrand, but officially official doubles which have lasted a while) but alas the right thumb on the backup is now starting to give. I looked at the new ones, they are all like pushing a hundred bucks, and everything all remote. For some reason cutting the cord on the controller is hard. Even on the laptop I still like to have that big long cord dangling at the knees for some reason. Anyhow, just like one part or a multi part decision paralysis I guess

I wholeheartly recommend Ghost of Tsushima. I played it back on PS4 Pro and it was a blast. One of the best looking (even if not necessarily realistically looking) open world I have played. Simply beautiful visuals and atmosphere. Plus very fun combat.

Europa Universalis 5 ! I think it'll be my next drug of choice. I don't think I've already mentioned this right? :D I'm too lazy to go back the pages and check, hehe.

Eriksholm released on Steam this week, and currently sits on a 96% positive rating. I'm going to try the full game this weekend as I begin my vacation.

Also, wanted to highlight another indie hit which I previously played during a Steam Next Fest (in 2023, I think). It released a 1.0 version just today. And again, the recent review rating is 96%!

Back to the Dawn is a story-rich pixel-graphics RPG set in a high-security prison in a very peculiar world. You play as Thomas the Fox, a fearless journalist who was falsely imprisoned by a corrupt mayor. You need to investigate the mysteries and get out, making friends (or foes) on your way.

- Immersive RPGs with 40+ hours of gameplay
- Expansive prison setting
- Deep character growth system
- Multiple possible endings based on your choices

When I played the demo, I got hooked immediately, even back then, it seemed to be rather creative and full of multiple paths.

I'm looking forward to Control: Resonant from Remedy. I already mentioned a few times I enjoyed Control a lot, and I liked Alan Wake and Alan Wake 2 by them as well.

Seems Control: Resonant (which was called Control 2 in their financial documents before) would lean more towards an RPG side, well, in Remedy's interpretation of it anyway.

“I think our way of handling traversal is going to be something that will stand out [and] I also believe we have a unique take on how we blend melee with forward-facing momentum and supernatural abilities,” creative director Mikael Kasurinen tells GameInformer.

In this open-ended Manhattan, you can expect secrets, side stories, and more. Kasurinen says none of it is filler and all of it is integrated into the larger world of Control and the golden path, stopping short of discussing any ties to the wider Remedyverse. He adds that Control is an action-adventure game, and that Resonant is an action-RPG with “more meaningful progression and real choices,” alongside “distinctive builds” that complement various gameplay styles. “It’s not a question of just entering a genre that is new to us, but discovering what the Remedy interpretation of it is,” Kasurinen says.

I guess, the main question for me is, whether Sam Lake is involved in writing Control: Resonant, or not. I fell in love with Remedy games in particular thanks to Sam's writing.

Tried Control and while combat was fun, constant backtracking and platforming made the game a bit of a slog for me to finish. Plus, I'm not the biggest fan of games where story is carried out through notes, tapes and puzzles.

I will consider trying Alan Wake 2 when it launches on Steam.

Soo, I thought I'd refresh the topic od games I'm looking forward to:
  • Exodus - even after the news of James Ohlen stepping down from his position as the head of Archetype Entertainment studio, it's still looking very promising go me
  • The Expanse: Osiris Reborn - I played a little bit of open beta and while it's visibly rough around the edges, the vibe of the franchise is strong and it's shaping up as a strong action RPG.
  • Warhammer 40000: Dark Heresy - another strong title from Owlcat. I absolutely loved Rogue Trader, the game with one of the best writing I've seen in years. Plus I really love the setting. Pretty excited for this one.
  • The Blood of Dawnwalker - I was just cautiously optimistic about this game at first, but the more gameplay footage I see the more I hope it will be something like The Witcher 3, but better. The fact that it's smaller in scope is actually good.
  • Fable - I played first two games of the series when I was a teenager and I absolutely loved them. I have high hopes that it will be as fun as original games.
  • Gothic Remake - I somehow missed original games and didn't really mąkę up my mind to catch up. This is a perfect chance to do it.
  • Star Wars: The Fate of New Republic - Both KotORs are among my favorite games of all time and I'm hoping this will be basically like KotOR3.
  • The Witcher 4 - the least excited for this one from this list. I'm not feeling this Unreal Engine look, feels...generic? Still, hoping for a good story.
