I don't see Fire and Spark as part of your build. Since you seem to have chosen Seismic Slam with some Flame Hammer as your main damage outputs, could that be a reason why you're finding your DPS lacking? Each level of Fire and Spark is a 5% increase to fire damage according to the wiki.
Out of curiosity, are you self-restricting potion use? I've played tank engineers and had no trouble face-tanking everything in the game, but I don't care how many potions I use. I also build at least one of the engineer's many fantastic aoe melee damage output abilities. I've done Flame Hammer...
You may or may not know that the forerunner of the Torchlight games was a game called Fate. Fate was produced by former Diablo developers who wanted to make a similar game that they themselves would enjoy, but without the restrictions and demands of working for a large company. They had a small...
I'd love to hear more about how both runs are going. I never tried a summoner build in Torchlight before.
I hear summoner builds work well in Grim Dawn. Speaking of which, if you're still looking for games similar to Diablo 2, you might want to try Grim Dawn some time, if you haven't already...
Torchlight 2 is more of a direct 1-to-1 Diablo 2 clone, so if you're not enjoying Torchlight 1, you might want to try Torchlight 2 before you drop the franchise. Torchlight 2 has the more typical ARPG approach of going through multiple acts that include wooded area, snow-covered rocky landscape...
Hmm. Thanks for the updates. I had written off Diablo IV and forgotten that it exists. Now I'm thinking about getting it eventually, especially if I can catch it on sale.
I really enjoyed Diablo II and even Diablo III, so I might like the new one.
I don't want to rank my games, because they all change constantly in how much I favor them purely depending on my mood or what phase I'm going through. What I will do is list every favorite I can think of in rough (very rough) order of release, the main criterion for inclusion being, I still...
I'm not prepared to research and post the perfect announcement articles to go with the post like @Antimatter does, but for those interested, there are Titan Quest 2 and Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era games in the works to be released probably next year. Googling should turn up a bunch of...
I'm back to playing an old favorite for a few weeks - Titan Quest.
I spent the last couple of weeks of summer break building a selection of new characters, and now that break is over and I'm back on a full teaching schedule, Titan Quest is great for after work when I want to just turn my brain...
This summer I've been giving RuneScape a try. It's a very different and unique MMO from what I'm used to in other MMO's.
There are two very divergent versions of the same game, "Old School Runescape", which is the game as it originally was before a massive graphics and gameplay overhaul (which...
During SoA, I think you'll need a mage to cast Lower Resistance and Breach during Imoen's down time, unless you choose your battles very carefully and/or rush getting her back.
Keldorn can't get Carsomyr without beating Firkraag, remember. and personally, I always beat him with Lower Resistance...
Fun aside about the Quantic gaming psychology and research company - I once taught violin lessons to one of their employees. He wanted me to teach him a violin solo from a jrpg he loved playing on console. He only took lessons for a semester before saying he couldn't afford to continue, but he...
@JustKneller , thanks for your supportive posts; I appreciate it. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who likes original BG, and that I'm not the only one who thought the video that started all this was, well, maybe unnecessarily confrontational and dismissive of other people's tastes and...
Wow, that is some heavy duty "justice" there. Interesting take on your character's morality. I forget, is this character lawful neutral or lawful good?
I usually refuse to take or associate with Neera with my lawful good characters, because of her recklessness and incompatible alignment, but...
Okay, I watched the video. The historical bit is well-researched, and I enjoyed the review of what happened, since it was so many years ago, I had forgotten a lot of that stuff.
Like JustKneller, you also lose me on your "soapbox" portion of the video. You have no idea why those of us who...
Nice to see it all discussed with respect and civility here. I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, but I will.
I gave you both my upvotes on your posts over there to counter the "dogpile" downvotes, but I'm just one person. :)
Don't feel bad about it, @JustKneller . I also started my share of journaled runs with big plans and wound up moving from big write-ups to brief summaries of main events after I got tired of how much work it was, between writing and also constantly taking and curating screen shots.
