The PC Gaming Show spent about 10 minutes explaining how exactly they picked the titles, what algorithms they used, which statistic models they tried etc. The chat went bonkers, absolutely silly, but props to the PC Gamer explaining all the math, because The Game Awards just has that huge jury and we need to accept their picks, and that's it. Feel the difference. But the chat was too stupid to understand any of that.

Gamescom will be happening next week, and its Opening Night Live will be full of action (my personal favorite is K:CD 2 ofc):

it's funny to me that Indiana jones was written by George Lucas after he completed episode 6 of star wars and named Indiana after his dog..in the mid 80s lol he was more of a story teller executive visionary than a director.

I missed the moment to notify here in advance, but I recommend watching yesterday's VOD of the Game Awards show (if you haven't).

At the very least, for the speech by Swen Vincke about the gaming industry.

So, nothing much that sparked my interesy so far, just a few titles, really:
  • 1866 Amsterdam - looks like Assassin's Creed Hexe, but not from Ubisoft. I hope this means early Ubisoft quality level, since it's from creator od original AC games.
  • Star Wars: Zero Company - I'm not the biggest fan of X-com series, but I do like Star Wars and this game seems more RPG oriented.
  • Virtua Fighter: Crossroads - VF was always one of my favorite fighting game series and this one looks like having a narrative side expanded. Looks more like a classic VF and Sodu hybryd. Looking great
  • The Ronin - while they didn't show anything particularly revealing about this game, I'll have it on my handbook because of the setting.
  • Exodus - easily the most anticipated games for me at the moment. The lenghty gameplay reveal only reinforced this feeling. Devs should work on the look of character faces, though. They could (and should) be improved.

For me, I can say just a few things caught my attention, in no particular order:

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendence - I have waited a long time for an official announcement, and I have many thoughts about what I saw. Will keep them to myself, since there's non-zero chance I am only Monster Hunter fan in here. This is an expansion I would like to play at release day, as Wilds is the first Monster Hunter game I intend to experience with updates as they go.

Stellar Blade 2 - shortly speaking, it looks freaking rad. If my limited experience with the first game is of any indicaiton, I'll be having fun with the second one as well.

The Blood of the Dawnwalker - what surprised me here is the ambitious plans the developers have regarding not only the one game, but a series, from medievial times to present-day. I have no reasons to not wish and not hope the best for them.

Blasphemus 2 DLC - this announcement reminded me, that I haven't finished the first game (that my brother owns), so I'd like to give it another shot in the future. And the sequel with said DLC, because I predic I'll have good time with it.

Vampire: The Masquarade - Eternal Whispers - it looks intriguing and possibly something I might enjoy. Given its presentation and the dinosaur I am, that's quite expected

I think the shows this summer turned out better than I expected, and they were generally better than last year.

1866 Amsterdam - can't wait to try out the demo (haven't had the time over the weekend, was too busy watching the shows); I like the vibe; not many games are about that setting and that time period; I like witches!

Stranger Than Heaven - I'm a fan of RGG Studio, the developers behind Like a Dragon (Yakuza) games; I like their tone; curious to get a game about Japan in different timelines; it would be interesting to see what they do with characters

Control Resonant - Sold! So beautiful. I see how level design is getting better and better with each game; I enjoyed Control and Alan Wake games, ofc it's day 1 for me; Waiting to discover a new track from Poets of the Fall in the game

Fable - Finally, sold! I had my reservations before this trailer, but they finally put the right accents and got the tone right for me; enjoying what they're doing with so many characters, faces, face animations, clothing, environment, fairytale vibe

Stellar Blade 2 (Blood Rain) - the lack of story in the first game eventually made me not purchase the game, but it seems the developers will try to work on that; I like the Ghost of the Shell vibe and all things cyberpunk

Magicians: The Devil's Deal - very entertaining, visually rich, seeing a mix of styles from Bioshock and Dishonored; the theme is also very interesting for me

Vampire: The Masquerade - Eternal Whispers - Disco-Elysium-style VtM game sounds like a great match; liked what I saw a lot

Beast of Reincarnation - It might be good; it releases very soon; reminds me of a blend between Kena Bridge of Spirits and a bit of NieR there; looks cute enough

There were also smaller titles I noticed (a new Stronghold game, a few building games), so I think it's been a good weekend!
