Path of Exile

I was considering starting Path of Exile but reading online guides about the skill trees, influence of stones on skills, etc. made me feel like this...



So, are there any simple guides out there that do not make me feel I need a master's degree in math to make a character work?

PS The video even uses a skill tree that looks like the Path of Exile one... The picture below doesn't show the full skill tree, by the way...

It's good that you labeled the image as a skill tree, because I wondered if it's a star chart for a sci-fi universe or a circuit board.

Odd especially for a game that otherwise looks purely action-focused to make it so complex... good luck to you.

I don't really know about any specific guide to help you out. But from my limited experience with this game, my general advice would be:
1) Think of what you want your character to do.
2) Search through the tree (there is a literally "search" function as well) where the passive skiills you need are
3) Take a look at the biggest-looking skills, as they often have the most potent, sometimes game-changing effects.
4) With 2) and 3) in mind, plan your route to these skills from where you start on the skill tree.
