Impossible roll?

I have just had a roll on Baldur's Gate without a re-roller. Which I couldn't believe.
What are the odds of a roll like this?

Next to impossible. Congratulations! It's much less likely on certain character classes and races. You'll get lower rolls on, say, a generic human fighter, than you will a paladin or elven ranger, as they have minimum stat requirements that the game grants you once you choose that class.

I was pretty darn lucky when it came to rolls (hit 101 twice), but nothing comes close to a 107. I'd say a celebration is in order. The question is, will you still get restartitis with the character?

Congrats on the roll!
Calculating the odds of that happening depends on minimal value of the abillity score (for example, if a minimal is 9, rolls below that value would be reaised to 9 as default). And even knowing them, I'm not the math guy and I wouldn't bother making the calculations. I simply consider your a very lucky :)

I vaguely remember someone on the Beamdog forums posting the math some time ago... I can't remember the numbers, of course (though their post may still be there), just that it's truly astronomical - even with a paladin.

It's 1 in 5,642,219,814,912. If we consider the number of people who bought this game and the number of runs the average person does of it, there's a very, very good chance you're the first person this has happened to, ever. Please don't waste it on a no-reload run. lol

Normally, I calculate dice odds by hand, but the odds of this were so low, I had to use AI to cut to the quick.

Of course it wasn't for a paladin as the strength would have been in the form: 18/90, not 18.

Probably! :ROFLMAO: If I do restart, it will be from Candlekeep. The difficult decision was choosing the dump stat!

In the past I once got 104 for a cleric/ranger, but that was using a re-roller!

I do play this game a LOT, but even so the odds are phenomenal.

Hah, wow! Never seen a real one like that. That's a crazy lucky roll right there. To roll one yourself without an autoroller.. that's just insane!

After the death of Gorion, I was quite perturbed and the arrival of Imoen was helpful in calming me. For one thing two are better than one particularly if you have complementary skills. She also had with her oil of speed which I used to safely acquire equipment from the ambush site. She suggested that we went to Beregost first as we might be able to find like-minded allies there.

She was right. I came across Kagain who offered employment dealing with the bandits. His motivation might not have been ideal, but his plans certainly were. I also joined up with Morwen, a bard and an excellent archer who I certainly got along with.

On the way to the FAI, we killed an ogre with a belt fetish. Later on we discovered that one of the belts was quite useful. Joia then gave us a task which we did relatively easily, after which Tenya and then Thorin joined us. With him in the party, we dropped off Kagain, and on returning to the FAI we left Imoen there. I certainly didn’t want to put her at risk fighting the bandits.

Farmer Brun had asked us for help and he was delighted with what we accomplish for him. Tenya neutralised the Ankhegs with Command and Thorin was our front-line fighter.

We then killed Tarnesh and spoke to Dorn, a rather rude, if tough person. I certainly didn’t expect him to join our party, but he did when we went south from Nashkel. He certainly had a grievance which we partially solved when we killed Kryll. We parted company afterwards and upon leaving said that he was returning to the FAI.

After helping Prism, we took Samuel to the FAI. Tenya has just told me about Lethe who could show her how to use her bowl, however finding her might not be easy.

Time for bed!
