you really should.

I saw this a while back and still think about it regularly. It was easily the most brilliant thing I've seen on the screen in the longest time. And the timing was great, too. Now that the video game industry is turning into an AI-infused transactional gauntlet, I've been drifting back to tabletop games. At this age, a lot of the tabletop gamers I know are running the old modules for the sake of nostalgia. I'm not a nostalgia kind of person. Onwards and upwards. As I've been building stuff for the table, it's been a process to figure out what that means, but a much easier one with inspiration like Scavengers Reign in the back of my mind. I didn't want to build yet another oh-no-an-evil-necromancer-has risen-and-the-world-needs-a-plucky-band-of-heroes-to-save-everyone kind of storyline. Playing D&D when you're just starting out versus playing it as an experience player that's been around the block a few times has completely different feels. Personally, I prefer the early experience with the novelty and wonder, where you need to figure it all out rather than the later one where you're just flexing your mastery. Scavengers Reign showed me how I can take a game sideways and give experienced players the experience of a new discovery, of needing to learn how it all works all over again.

Anyway, if you haven't watched it, I hope you do. 😊
