  1. Industry News / Upcoming Games

I've heard nothing but good things about Half-Life. But Asgard's Wrath 2 is my most played game, truly well-done open world rpg, and excellent roguelike infinite dungeon mechanic.
  2. Industry News / Upcoming Games

"Accounts Receivable Revolution" got a few genuine laughs out of me You might be amused to know that "Job Simulator" has been one of the most popular VR games since its inception. I think this goes to show how badly VR markets its games, but whatever.
  3. If you could sit down with James Ohlen to discuss his work on the original Baldur's Gate games, what would you want to ask him?

I would ask him if he chooses Shadowhart or Lae'zel as his lover in BG3? Maybe Gale or the Bear instead?
  4. So pleased about AI producing portraits that were previously in short supply: and good ones too.

I am tempted to work on this question for fun when I have time this week. I am thinking I will load up every IWD portrait into the "use image as reference" function, and try my hardest to accurately describe the art style in a way it will understand. Then try to generate a whole series of...
  5. Can you comfortably play 2d iso games on a handheld gaming system such as steamdeck or other similar clones?

You are still in control of your files under SteamOS, i've been able to mod and install everything from homebrew VR software to mods for every which game. It's just the file structure is a little clunky. But I was always Windows before I owned a Steam Deck. Now, i'm going to always avoid trying...
  6. Can you comfortably play 2d iso games on a handheld gaming system such as steamdeck or other similar clones?

All the original games work on Steam Deck. Modding them is another matter. I'm 99% sure it is just a matter of finding the right compatdata folder (to put your mods in) and Proton set up (to get the mod manager running) but I haven't tried it.
  7. So pleased about AI producing portraits that were previously in short supply: and good ones too.

To be fair, the image to the right is basically a perfect replica of the standard halberd from NWN2.
  8. Thinking of playing a goblin in BG

I think some of the free ones are actually quite good. Grok is good for minor programming tasks but not images, and Google's free AI is excellent at images but kind of sucks at everything else. This was the first result I got asking for a goblin warrior in a Baldurs Gate 1 or 2 art style. I...
  9. Thinking of playing a goblin in BG

No, that was just me making a silly joke. It's clearly an error of some sort. When you have some sort of mod error, you get dialogue bits in all sorts of random places.
  10. Thinking of playing a goblin in BG

You can actually produce some absolute gems of portraits if you give it the right prompt and I have been using self-created portraits as the standard for my new PCs. It just takes some thinking about your description This was considered a bad reputation in the middle ages
  11. Thinking of playing a goblin in BG

The key to enjoying AI art is to not look too close. And hundreds of prompts
  12. Thinking of playing a goblin in BG

Did you add the paper doll in? I'm fairly sure you can do that quite easily

  14. The BG trilogy, canon party, and GW

You have to play a very particular way to get Imoen to the levels in both Thief and Mage she is supposed to be at. Now that SoD exists, I leave her as a thief and never level her beyond 7. She learns her Mage skills after the events of the story and has a reputable teacher to do it with. Works...
  15. The BG trilogy, canon party, and GW

I think about this often since the role playing aspect factors heavily into my enjoyment of the game. Basically, I think Mage, Paladin, and Bard are all the easiest choices to justify, role-playing wise. Gorion would gladly guide you down any of these paths, and you have guides and influences...
